Everything is great. Just another normal uneventful day. Then you get a call from a family member that you seldom talk with. Now you know something is going on and it’s not going to be good.

 

Sure enough. Mom has fallen and is headed to the emergency room.

Life happens in the blink of an eye. It did for my family. My parents were fortunate enough to live in a community in East Texas that had a very strong Senior community and very nice Assisted Living Facilities, just like we do here on The South Plains.

As a family, we were fortunate that many of our questions were answered easily. However, that made me think about how folks with limited resources and limited access to information get help caring for their loved ones. How do they find the best solutions?

Two years ago, I began putting together what I hope is a complete resource directory for the South Plains of Texas. My goal was to not only create a book that not only had a long shelf life but also serve as a valuable resource for Caregivers and my clients in my Real Estate business. I hope I have succeeded.

During the process I met some incredible people that have touched my life in a way I would have never expected. A couple of God given very special Caregivers were with my parents continuously. Carma, Carlos, and Diana provided my parents with Continuous Loving care until the end. We will always remember and love you.

I am truly blessed. I am also fortunate to have an amazing supportive Bride and family. As the title of the book says:

“Until It’s My Time. I will Continue to Clap.”
