Facing Those Lonely Days

When those lonely days begin for you, there are so many things that you can do to help pass the day. Many Seniors that I help through this difficult time spend many hours volunteering throughout Lubbock. Some of the opportunities that come to mind are the Lubbock Food Bank, Dream Center, and Lubbock Impact. All these volunteer places are so beneficial to our community.

Each of these provides free services for medical, dental, clothes, and food. I have personally seen how each one of these centers lovingly minister to those they serve, and they are always needing people to lend a helping hand. As a volunteer, you may do something as simple as sorting through clothes or through boxes of food. If you are skilled in medical areas, you may volunteer in the medical or dental fields of service. One of the often-forgotten roles as a volunteer may be at your local church. The need for ushers, greeters, visitor center volunteers, cart drivers, and so much more is always needed. By contacting your local pastor, you can find that place that will help fill your lonely days. Volunteering is that time when you can be the most useful to others. How is your time? Will you take advantage of the opportunity that you have been given?

You can remain lonely or fill those days that you have on this earth by being a blessing to someone else. God did not put you here to just sit, but to serve. Now - Get Moving!
